He arrived in the summer rather than in January, and the season has gone the way it usually goes for a freshman lineman, even a five-star: he did not play in the opener, did not appear in the published snap counts at Oklahoma State, then made his debut in the 84-0 win over Portland State with 30 snaps. At USC he was on Oregon's official participation list, though not in the starting five. In Oregon's first seven games, through Illinois on Oct 24, center Iapani Laloulu and Fox Crader started every one, Crader at right tackle for five and at left tackle for the last two. Against Nebraska and at Illinois, Gernorris Wilson started at right tackle and Douglas Utu at right guard, and Tommy Tofi made his first career start at left guard at Illinois (published starting lineups). Dave Iuli, who started four straight games at right guard, is OUT for Northwestern, and Dan Lanning said on Oct 28 that he needs surgery.
