At 6-3, 240 pounds out of St. Paul's Episcopal in Mobile, Alabama, he brings SEC-caliber pass rush ability to a defensive line that is already the best in the country. He enrolled early, took rotational reps through spring practice 2026, and saw the field in the April 25 spring game behind Matayo Uiagalelei and Teitum Tuioti. When Uiagalelei and Tuioti leave for the NFL, Jones becomes the guy. The pipeline does not stop.

Why He Matters

Oregon's defensive line depth is the program's greatest strength. Matayo Uiagalelei recorded 10.5 sacks in 2024 and 6.0 in 2025. Teitum Tuioti led the team with 9.5 sacks in 2025. Both are seniors in 2026. When they leave, Jones Jr. steps into the starting role with a full year of development in the system. Chris Hampton's defense is built on rotating fresh pass rushers. Jones gives him another weapon in that rotation immediately.

The Path

Jones chose Oregon over offers from across the country. The pitch was simple: come to a program where edge rushers develop into NFL first-round picks. Kayvon Thibodeaux (#5 overall, 2022), Derrick Harmon (#21 overall, 2025), and soon Uiagalelei. The blueprint is real. Jones saw it and wanted in.
