Oregon vs USC

Sources disagree by one game, and the difference is real rather than an error. USC vacated its Sept 24, 2005 win over Oregon under the NCAA sanctions that followed the Reggie Bush investigation. Vacating removes the win from USC's ledger but does not hand Oregon a win, so USC's side of the series reads 38-24-2 while a strictly Oregon-side count reads 24-39-2. We published 24-38-2 through the 2025 season, which matches the standard published series record (checked against Winsipedia and Wikipedia's Oregon-USC rivalry page, Sept 10, 2026), and the record on this page advances automatically with each new meeting.

Where they stand in 2026: USC is 6-2 this season, most recently losing to Wisconsin 7-24. Oregon won 41-27 on Sept 26. Full recap →

Justin Herbert #10 in Oregon all-yellow uniform at Autzen Stadium

All yellow. All Oregon. The uniform that defined the Halloween night tradition against USC.

Oregon trails the all-time series, but the Chip Kelly era flipped the script. Oregon went 3-1 against USC from 2009-2012, outscoring the Trojans 197-141 in those 4 games. The 2009 Halloween game (47-20 over No. 4 USC in the AP poll, at Autzen) remains one of the most iconic wins in program history. Now a Big Ten rivalry renewed with both schools in the same conference again.

Oregon grew up in USC's shadow. For decades, the Trojans were the Pac-10/12 standard and Oregon was chasing. Chip Kelly flipped the script (47-20 on Halloween 2009). Now they are Big Ten rivals, and Oregon has the better program. That would have been unthinkable 20 years ago.

2026

Oregon 41, USC 27

USC made it uglier. Oregon made it five. Dante Moore was hit late on a slide in the second quarter and left the Coliseum by ambulance; the USC linebacker was ejected for targeting and was later seen celebrating on the sideline (Sports Illustrated, Yahoo Sports). Dylan Raiola threw a touchdown on his second snap and went 19 of 25 for 289, USC tied it 27-27, and Oregon scored the last fourteen. Five straight, and USC has not beaten Oregon since 2016. The full story is in the recap.

2025

Oregon 42, USC 27

Big Ten rivalry renewed at Autzen. Oregon scored 42 on a USC program still searching for its identity under Lincoln Riley. The Ducks controlled this one from the second quarter on. A comfortable win in a series that used to give Oregon nightmares.

2020

Oregon def. USC (Pac-12 Championship)

COVID-shortened season, conference-only schedule. Oregon beat USC in the Pac-12 Championship game to claim the conference title. Cristobal's second Pac-12 crown. The score mattered less than the trophy.

2012

Oregon 62, USC 51

113 combined points. The most Chip Kelly game ever played. Oregon averaged 49.6 PPG that season and this was the masterpiece. Matt Barkley threw 5 TDs for USC and still lost by 11. De'Anthony Thomas was untouchable.

2011

USC 38, Oregon 35

Heartbreaker at Autzen. Oregon's kicker missed a tying field goal with 5 seconds left. Oregon's only Pac-12 loss that season. One of the best college football games of the decade, and it happened to go against the Ducks. Oregon still won the conference and the Rose Bowl, but this one left a mark.

2009

Oregon 47, USC 20

Halloween night at Autzen. No. 4 USC walked in as 3.5-point favorites and walked out destroyed. Chip Kelly's arrival party. The 'I Love My Ducks' game. The night the rest of the country realized Oregon was for real. 47-20 is the score that launched a brand.

2007

Oregon 24, USC 17

Dennis Dixon and the Ducks knocked off USC during Oregon's magical 2007 run. Oregon was No. 5 in the AP poll that week and climbed to No. 2 by early November, riding a wave that only ended when Dixon tore his ACL at Arizona weeks later.

2005

USC 45, Oregon 13

USC 45, Oregon 13. Not the upset. USC with Reggie Bush and Matt Leinart destroyed Oregon at Autzen. The Trojans were that dominant.
