About The Quack Report
Built by a fan who was at the Halloween game. Who was in Glendale when Dyer went down. Who walked the bridge to Autzen hundreds of times and will walk it hundreds more.
I listened to Oregon games on the radio as a kid. I wore Duck gear to school 90% of the time in middle school and high school. I wore it with acne and bad breath and did not care. I watched ESPN at midnight as a teenager hoping they would show one Oregon highlight. I was on the jumbotron at Autzen as a baby. I walked the bridge over the Willamette to the stadium hundreds of times. I have been to College GameDay at 3 in the morning holding signs in the dark.
I was there Halloween night 2009 when we put 47 on USC and the student section was in costumes. I was in Glendale when Cam Newton beat us by three and Dyer's knee was on the turf and the ref didn't blow the whistle. I was in Arlington when Ohio State scored 34 unanswered and everything went quiet. I was at Autzen in the absolute downpour against Cal my freshman year. I was there when we lost to Washington on a last-second field goal and the championship run with Bo Nix ended. I was in college when Mariota was QB. I watched Dixon go down at Arizona and felt the season end in real time. I watched Masoli be a battering ram. I sang Return of the Quack and I Love Roses.
I have tailgated all day with full buffets, family, friends, and football scrimmages in the parking lot. I have been kicked out of Autzen for being too drunk. I have cried over losses and lost my voice celebrating wins. I still wear Duck clothes 80% of my life. My favorite players, in no particular order: Marcus Mariota, De'Anthony Thomas, Justin Herbert, Jeremiah Masoli, Dennis Dixon, Tez Johnson, Joey Harrington, Haloti Ngata, LaMichael James. I have been obsessed with stats since I was a kid, and now I am obsessed with recruiting, transfer portals, and analyzing matchups. This site exists because I could not find one that told the Oregon football story the way I actually experienced it.
What This Is
This is not a news site. I do not break recruiting news or pretend to have insider access. For that, the communities in the directory are great. This is a reference site built by a fan in Portland who grew up listening to games on the radio and watching Joey Harrington on TV. Every season from Rich Brooks through Dan Lanning. Every rivalry record. Every player who mattered. The heartbreak and the glory. The 42-20 Ohio State loss and the 59-20 Florida State demolition. If you have ever argued about whether Marcus Mariota or Justin Herbert was the better Duck, if you remember what it felt like when Wheaton crossed the goal line, this is for you.
