The Oregon Ducks play home games at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Oregon. Autzen has an official capacity of 54,000 and is widely considered one of the loudest per-seat venues in college football. Dan Lanning is the head coach of the Oregon Ducks. He was hired in January 2022 from Georgia, where he served as defensive coordinator during their national championship season. Through 5 seasons at Oregon, Lanning has compiled a 52-11 record (.825 win percentage), won a Big Ten title, and led the Ducks to back-to-back College Football Playoff appearances.

Dylan Raiola started at quarterback at Illinois on Oct 24 and played the whole game: 27 of 41 for 246 yards, no touchdowns, no interceptions, in the 21-10 loss. Brock Thomas did not play (Oregon Athletics official box score and participation list). Dante Moore is out for the rest of the season: Dan Lanning said on Monday, Oct 26, that Moore has no medical clearance after the concussion at USC on Sept 26 and that “for him to be out there on the field for us, that’s not gonna happen.” Oregon has not named a starter for Northwestern on Oct 31. In 2025 Dante Moore passed for 3,565 yards and 30 touchdowns and chose to return rather than enter the NFL Draft. Dylan Raiola transferred from Nebraska with 22 career starts. Oregon is 2-10 all-time against Ohio State. However, the series has been much more competitive recently. The Ducks have split the last four meetings 2-2, with both wins coming in the regular season (2021 in Columbus, 2024 at Autzen Stadium) and both losses coming in the postseason (2014 CFP Championship, 2024 Rose Bowl). The next meeting is November 7, 2026 in Columbus.

Not yet. Oregon has played for it twice: the 2011 BCS Championship (Auburn 22, Oregon 19, and Dyer was down) and the 2015 CFP Championship (Ohio State 42, Oregon 20). Marcus Mariota won the Heisman Trophy in 2014, the only Oregon player to win the award. Mariota received 90.92% of the vote, then the second-highest share in Heisman history; it ranks fourth now, behind Joe Burrow, Reggie Bush and Troy Smith. That season he had 53 total touchdowns with just 2 interceptions, leading Oregon to the CFP Championship game.

Talented, and tougher than September made it look. Oregon is 4-3 after opening the season at No. 2 in the AP: a 34-27 win over Boise State, a 39-31 loss at Oklahoma State to a team that had not beaten an FBS opponent in 21 tries, an 84-0 win over Portland State that settled nothing, a 41-27 win at USC in the Big Ten opener after Dante Moore was hurt in the second quarter (his status is on the injury tracker) and Dylan Raiola came in, and a 17-15 home loss to UCLA on Oct 10 with Raiola starting and seven Oregon turnovers. The credentials are real, with back-to-back College Football Playoff appearances, a 13-2 season in 2025, Dante Moore at quarterback when healthy (his status is on the injury tracker) and 52-11 under Dan Lanning. The open question is Moore's return, and the November 7 trip to Ohio State is still the one the season turns on.

Oregon lost to Illinois 21-10 on Oct 24. Illinois 21, Oregon 10: Oregon led 10-0 with 2:29 left in the first half, gave up a 75-yard touchdown run 14 seconds later, and never scored again. Oregon outgained Illinois 426 to 314 and lost by 11. Full recap and box score.

Autzen Stadium is widely regarded as one of the loudest per-seat stadiums in all of college football. With an official capacity of 54,000, Autzen punches well above its weight in terms of noise. The steep, enclosed bowl design traps sound on the field. Opposing teams routinely struggle with crowd noise, false starts, and communication breakdowns. Former USC coach Pete Carroll once called it the loudest stadium he had ever coached in.

Oregon has two primary rivals. The Washington Huskies rivalry is the most heated, especially since both programs moved to the Big Ten. The Civil War with Oregon State is the oldest in-state rivalry. The teams do not play in 2026 or 2027, and the series resumes in 2028. The Ohio State matchup has quickly become significant, with the two programs meeting twice in the 2024 season, in the regular season and again in the Rose Bowl. See all rivalry records.

Oregon's official team colors are dark green and gold (commonly referred to as green and yellow). The Ducks are famous for their extensive uniform combinations, thanks to the program's partnership with Nike and Phil Knight. Oregon regularly debuts new uniform designs, with over 100 different combinations used in the modern era.
