What We Collect

If you sign up for our newsletter, we collect your email address. If you submit a comment, we collect your name and comment text. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site (see Analytics section below).

How We Use Your Email

Your email address is used only to send you The Quack Report newsletter. We will not sell, rent, or share your email address with anyone. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying to any newsletter or contacting us.

Form Handling

Newsletter signups, comments, fan stories, predictions, and votes are processed by Netlify Forms. Netlify stores submissions securely. We retain form submissions for 90 days for moderation purposes and then delete them unless the content has been featured on the site with your permission. You can review Netlify's privacy policy for details on their data handling.

Fan Votes

Vote counts are stored in Firebase Realtime Database. Votes are anonymous. We do not collect personally identifiable information through the voting system. Vote data is aggregated (total counts per option) and displayed publicly on the site.

Third-Party Services

This site loads fonts from Google Fonts and displays YouTube thumbnail images. YouTube videos are embedded using youtube-nocookie.com to reduce tracking. These services may collect standard web request data (IP address, browser type) as part of serving those resources. We do not control those services. The Apple Music embed on the homepage loads content from Apple's servers and is subject to Apple's privacy policy.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site. GA4 only loads after you consent via the cookie banner at the bottom of the page. If you decline, no analytics data is collected. GA4 collects anonymized data including pages visited, time on site, and general geographic region. IP addresses are anonymized. You can also opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy.

Cookies

This site uses cookies only for Google Analytics (after consent) and localStorage for voting preferences and form rate limiting. No advertising cookies or third-party trackers are used.

Photos

Photos on this site include fan-submitted images, press photos used for commentary/criticism under fair use, and images from official Oregon Athletics media. If you are a photographer and wish to receive credit or request removal of an image, please contact us.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Your Rights

You may request deletion of your email address or any submitted content at any time. If you are in the EU (GDPR) or California (CCPA), you have additional rights including access to, correction of, and deletion of your data. Contact us to exercise these rights.

Microsoft Clarity

We partner with Microsoft Clarity and Microsoft Advertising to capture how you use and interact with our website through behavioral metrics, heatmaps, and session replay to improve and market our products and services. Website usage data is captured using first and third-party cookies and other tracking technologies to determine the popularity of products/services and online activity. Additionally, we use this information for site optimization, fraud/security purposes, and advertising.
