Cristobal left Oregon after the 2021 regular season to become head coach at Miami, his alma mater. He had compiled a 35-13 record at Oregon over four seasons, won back-to-back Pac-12 titles (2019, 2020), and built elite recruiting classes. Oregon hired Dan Lanning from Georgia as his replacement.
